Does Costa Rica have Veteran Hospitals?

Holly L. Says:

Being a disabled veteran I need to ask if there are any veteran hospitals and clinics in Costa Rica? I have to have access to these places.

IL Costa Rica Correspondent Bekah Bottone Says:

Hi Holly,

The Center for International Medical Advanced (CIMA) Hospital in San José is the only hospital in Central America that is accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The hospital features a wing entirely dedicated to foreign patients, including offices specially to cater to US veterans.

While this is the only facility, the CIMA Hospital has it all… intensive care, all the surgical specialties, and even dental treatments. And most procedures and treatments are 30% to 70% cheaper than US prices.

And it is Joint Commission International certified. That’s the gold standard in healthcare—many US hospitals fail to receive that accreditation.

You can contact the hospital directly from the US on 1 (855) 782-6253 to discuss your personal situation.
