Applying for Mexico Visa

Hi! Does anyone know if, once you apply for and have your Mexican visa (temporary or permanant) if there is any requirement to be in Mexico within a certain amount of time? We are not planning to make the move to Mexico until next winter, but are wondering if it makes sense to start the process and get the visa now, giving us the option (but not the requirement) to go earlier.

but once you have completed the process here you can come and go as you please with no requirement to lice here immediately or ever. this end of the process is harder than the Mexican Consulate end in the US. getting the appointment being the hardest thing although they recently promised an upgrade to the system for getting your residency card i dont know what that is but its supposed to ease the process
