    Hello – my husband and I are considering a move to Portugal. In researching the D7 Visa requirements according to the Portugalist website I am reading that in 2025 the financial requirements for a single person are approx $870Euro along with $10,440Euro in a Portugise savings account. I am also reading that to include a spouse add 50% or $435 Euro. I am about to retire and start receiving my SS. My husband is 8 yrs younger. If I am understanding the requirments correctly; does it mean that both my husband and I can quailfy using just my SS income? Thank you for any help!

    If we purchase property in Portugal, it appears from my research that the property taxes are approximately 50% of value. Please tell me if I am reading this correctly….
    Also, if I rent rather than purchase, how do I maintain a residence status for more than 6 months at a time?
