My partner and I have had it with the USA. We feel terrible about leaving. But we see our once beautiful country becoming something “foreign” to us. So we might as well move to a foreign country that is peace-minded, with friendly ,happy people, and is welcoming and affordable. And having good medical services.
We’d appreciate suggestions from all! Thank you, in advance!

We are looking for similar advice, but have done some narrowing down of our options. This is a big question to answer without additional information about needs, restrictions, etc. What kinds of Visas have you looked into for instance? Where are you in your career and lifestage? You might consider looking at Mexico, I think. Greece and while they are a member of NATO, I don’t think of them as especially warlike. As for healthcare, Greece ranks along side with Portugal, Spain and France as moderately good according to Johns Hopkin’s [GHS index](https://ghsindex.org/). My brother, an archaeologist in Greece, has very positive things to say about it. Mexico has similar rankings.

I have to admit that a few Google searches for similar type concerns landed me on IL’s site. Our big issue will be leaving the Active Adult community where we live – also referred to as “summer camp for adults”. It would be EXTREMELY difficult to leave the friendly community of people of similar age, who are active in sports, golf and even at the gym. Some of the idylic reviews of mediteranean beaches and see paint beautiful postcards, but as “young” retirees (65-ish), we want to be active! Where can we find that?

Thank you both (Helen and Brian) for your responses. I think we’re seriously considering Ireland. Now we just have to figure out how to go about doing this. We’re probably going to go there for a couple of weeks first in order to do some exploring of different areas. The westcoast is where we’re starting.
We are both in our very early 70s, and in relative good health. Still, finding a place that has good healthcare is critical. We don’t want to live in a city. Rather, we prefer to be about 30 minutes outside a major city. My partner still works. But he can do his work remotely using the Internet. So obviously, wherever we go needs to have good internet service.
