Hi Jon –
In Cuenca now for 7 weeks (my third trip). I came to try to find us an apt/casa before my hubby (John)joins me when he retires in a couple of weeks. After three days of being totally exhausted (be prepared to you all out there who are about to do the same), I found the perfect casa for us. We are so excited..great that he trusts me 🙂 I have requested your notes before Christmas; however, didn’t receive them….would love to have them now. Thanks so much! Suzie and John Fahrman

My wife and I are planning on visiting Cotacachi and Cuenca for 4-6 weeks each later this year. I would greatly appreciate a copy of your notes from Ecuador Insider. Lately we have been looking at requirements for applying for a 9-I Pensioner’s Visa. I already have a list of questions that are probably answered in what you have copied. Please send to grsidwell@gmail.com.
Thank you so much!

August 1, 2014 at 8:59 pm #580660SUZIE HARPParticipantHi Jon –
Jon, I have requested many times in the past several months for the notes mentioned in all the previous requests; however, not sure why I still haven’t received them. I have been a member of the Ecuador Insider since the early part of this year. We are working on our Visas as I write this request. Today I sent my Social Security information (apostilled by the Secretary of State in Virginia) to the Ecuadorian Consulate in Washington, D.C. for certification. We have rented a home in Cuenca beginning October 1st of this year. Can’t wait to finally call Cuenca home, so hopefully, someone can send me your notes to help get through this tedious process. My email address is: suziebug98@gmail.com
Thanks so very much.
Suzie Harp FahrmanAugust 2, 2014 at 6:06 pm #580663MICHAEL DEANERMemberHi Suzie,
Ed put up a link to Jon’s notes on 3-7 REPLY #551803. I just tried it and it works. Thinking that maybe you missed it.
Hope that helps.
MikeAugust 3, 2014 at 1:16 pm #580665RAI C.MemberJon,
If you’re still monitoring, I too would appreciate a copy of your notes as I’m planning an exploratory trip to Ecuador this fall in anticipation of hopefully retiring there sometime in the near future. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
RaiAugust 3, 2014 at 1:56 pm #580666RAI C.MemberJon,
Disregard as to sending your notes. I located a link to them further back on the forum.
I would ask though, who is your source for this wealth of helpful info, and how reliable is it all, to your knowledge/experience? Thanks for your efforts. Any updates or additional advice always appreciated.
RaiAugust 9, 2014 at 10:11 am #581157SUZIE HARPParticipantHello to anyone out there who have received the notes from Jon. I’ve been requesting them since March of this year when I joined and still have not received. We just got our certification of SS income back from the Ecuadorian Consulate in Washington, D.C.
Have decided for numerous reasons to not get a container…suitcases and bins only so very frustrating as we haven’t sold our house, ALL our household items, etc.I paid my annual dues and still no response on requested notes. Thank you in advance for sending, whoever you may be.
Suziebug98@gmail.comAugust 10, 2014 at 9:55 am #581160SUZAN HASKINSParticipantHi Suzie, Jon is (or was) a subscriber to this forum. It was a long time ago that kindly compiled all the info. I’m not sure what his status is these days and, in any case, there is no doubt there have been lots of changes in Ecuador since that time. There has been a major change to this forum, in fact. There is now a search function that allows you to search by topic. That’s probably the best way for you to get the latest, up-to-date information.
If you can’t find the information you are looking for, be sure to post your specific questions and we’ll do our best to get you the answers you need.
