We will have three people arriving in Guayaquil next Wednesday 14th around 2:05 PM. What is the best way for us to travel to Salinas? Van, cab, bus, rental car? We would like to spend a day or two in Salinas then travel up the coast. We only have a short visit and will be departing from Quito midnight the following Monday.

2nd Question: Hotel and transportation from airport in Quito when we arrive around 11:00 PM. Again for three adults traveling. We will fly out of Quito 1:15 next day for Guayaquil.

Appreciate any help we can receive on our first “Look and See” trip. Want to make this a new home.
    Thanks, The Hawksley’s

If you are arriving in Guayaquil by air, the bus station is just across the street, so probably just as easy and cost effective if you hop on a bus, as long as you are traveling light and not hauling lots o’baggage with you.

In Quito, you don’t say where you are staying. If you are staying at an airport hotel, they will typically arrange transportation for you. Just send them your flight details and be sure the driver holds up a sign with your name on it.

If you are staying in the city, I’d just grab a taxi at the airport. Should be only about $30 to take you into the city. Be sure to have the address and tel # of your hotel written down, especially if it is one most drivers don’t know.

Hi Suzan, We have not made arrangements for a hotel in Quito yet, looking for suggestions. Might be as good to stay a little close to airport, won’t have long there. All three of us will be traveling light with one roller board a piece. We dont check luggage.
Appreciate all your help. Love reading all your articles and books. Hope to join you in Ecuador soon.

Posada Mirolindo is a very nice place to stay near the airport (and great family that runs it) and Quito Airport Suites is a very basic place…
