    Hi, we are making our first trip to Ecuador next month. Can you recommend a hotel in Loja where we can stay while we check out the town? I have seen hotel recommendations for the more expat-popular locations on this site but not for Loja.

    I like to use Tripadvisor for recommendations. I stayed at the Grand Victoria and loved it — right in the heart of El Centro. The Howard Johnson also rates highly (they are usually nicer in Latin America than Hojos in the States.)
