Updates from EC Officials or US EC Embassy Re Ebola or Travel Restrictions

We plan to travel from EC to the US on 23 Nov. and return to EC 2 Dec. Does anyone have any official Ecuadorian or US Ecuadorian Embassy links that might provide updates/warnings regarding Ebola and any possible travel restrictions. I have also sent this query to the US Ecuadorian Embassy and will share any useful reply received with EC insiders.

I don’t think anyone here in Ecuador is very worried about it. When the swine flu scare occurred back in 2009, they had a doorway/machine you walked through in the Quito airport upon arrival that detected whether or not you had a temperature. But I’ve not heard of any plans to do that this time around.

I can’t find exactly what you’re looking for in the way of websites, but here are several that should provide information on any travel restrictions put in place by Ecuador:

Here is the official site for Ecuador and specifically the section discussing visas and who may enter the country. I would expect that it would be updated with travel restrictions due to health concerns.

The U.S. State Department also keeps up to date information on travel to various other countries and you can find their information on Ecuador here.

Finally, the CDC also keeps updated health information for travelers to foreign countries and here is their Ecuador section.
