MemberThanks Jessica,
Where we will be coming from the Chicago area in the US and have to connect through Panama City to David to get to Boquete, this is a concern. When we got to Panama City on 12/31/2012, the temperature was 98F – way over the limit for companion animals (or so I’ve been told).
Also we were unable to book connecting flight to David from the US (via Air Panama) so had to overnight in Panama City at an overpriced dump ($98.00 USD, but won’t name the place) where the elevator was broken (our room on 3rd floor), pool empty, no wake-up call – in fact had to wake up the desk clerk to ask about the ‘complimentary breakfast starting at 6:00am’ which never happened. No taxi service to Allbrook to catch the lovely 9 hour bus ride (luckily a gypsy cab stopped by and we got the last 2 seats on the last bus to David at 8:15am on 1/1/2013). Is this normal?
Fortunately I have the email address of the Air Panama agent in Boquete so I can book that part separately for our come-back trip in 2014.
Cheers,Susan

MemberDennis,
I’m looking at Boquete for retirement, and I do play bridge, both regular and duplicate, though very rusty (my spending $$ in HS and College). Am sure there’ll be a bridge group in Boquete. My tennis days quit in HS because was so bad (even though my UK HS at the time was playing on the outdoor courts at Wimbledon)

MemberDoes the time of year matter when moving to Panama by air to David/to Boquete with pets? We currently live in the Chicago IL US area and have 1 chocolate lab, almost 6 years old, and 2 exotic Birman cats just turned 3. Know that some airlines won’t accept companion animals if temp is over a certain limit

MemberJessica,
I was under the impression (based on the number of refund checks I’ve gotten within the last year) that
US banks can’t charge an ‘exchange fee’ for International transactions. When using my credit cards in Panama in January 2013, there were no extra fees on my CC bills. Has something changed? Thanks,
