ParticipantI agree this “joke” was in extremely bad taste. I’m sure some elderly expats who would struggle mightily to learn a new language were unnecessarily scared out of their wits. Sorry, that’s just cruel.
ParticipantLilie, you can historically expect better weather in October than August, but keep in mind seasonal differences in Ecuador are much narrower than you may be accustomed to. In other words, there’s no “bad” time to visit weather-wise.
ParticipantGayle, based on your criteria Cuenca would not be a viable choice for you and your husband. We are at 8400 feet and handicap access is in the Stone Age here. Sorry to tell you that generally Ecuador isn’t a particularly wheelchair-friendly country.
