    Suzan / Your comment re no bank acct is interesting. I have been planning to open an acct in Ecuador during my recon trip. Also setting up Soc Sec payments to that bank. However, if checks on a Minnesota bank are accepted (given a time for clearing) I might not need to go through with any changes and just bank with plastic and auto withdrawls. Is this what you are implying is possible? Thanks, Mark

    I want to change from desk top to lap top for computer needs. Is there any advantage to purchasing equipment in Ecuador or should one do that before relocating?

    I misplaced the list of gringo nights in various cities/towns. I would like to include them on my recon trip. Is there a reason to go to Quito for admin recon purposes if I do not intend to live there? ps Sarah D. was very helpful with insulin questions. Mark

    As a diabetic, I need insulin. It is prohibitedly expensive in the US. I use a prescription assistance program that will not ship overseas. What is available in Ecuador for sourcing insulin?
