I know that there is this thing called the Freelancer’s Visa that some artists apply for, but which is really for anyone self-employed. It is a long term Visa and can lead to residency but it can be difficult to obtain if you are over 45 years old.

Here is some information from [one site I visited.](https://www.germany-visa.org/freelance-visa/#requirements-for-self-employed-individuals-selbstandiger-gewerbetreibender)

    Eligibility Requirements
To apply for a freelance/self-employment visa in Germany, you must meet the following requirements:

    Requirements for freelancers (Freiberufler)
You must have a professional license to practice the self-employed activity, such as a diploma, vocational training, or other qualifications.
You must show proof of financial means.
If you’re over 45, you must provide proof of a valid pension.

    Requirements for self-employed individuals (Selbständiger/Gewerbetreibender)
Proof of an economic interest in Germany.
Proof of a positive impact of your business on the German economy.
You must have enough financial resources for your business such as equity capital or loan commitment.
If you’re over 45, you must also show proof of a valid pension.

What does enough financial resources mean? It means proof of financial stability, which can be shown by having at least €10,000 in savings, or a projected annual income of €10,000 to €12,000 from client contracts or a business plan. According to this [other site](https://www.visaverge.com/immigration/2025-guide-to-germanys-freelance-visa-requirements-and-application/)

Hey, I am no financial expert, but a quick search for Ted Bauman online reveals that he publishes something called the Bauman Letter, which you might want to take a look at [https://www.moneyshow.com/expert/f05213de2ef84ae5a83fe187c3315fc6/](https://www.moneyshow.com/expert/f05213de2ef84ae5a83fe187c3315fc6/)

I am answering unanswered questions in the hopes that someone will answer mine, found in introductions.

I am not sure I understand your question. Isn’t it the same password that you used to log into this forum?

Another option might be to “print to PDF” which is an option on most up-to-date computers these days. Might not be well formatted though.

I am going around answering unanswered questions because it looks like there are a lot of them.

We are looking for similar advice, but have done some narrowing down of our options. This is a big question to answer without additional information about needs, restrictions, etc. What kinds of Visas have you looked into for instance? Where are you in your career and lifestage? You might consider looking at Mexico, I think. Greece and while they are a member of NATO, I don’t think of them as especially warlike. As for healthcare, Greece ranks along side with Portugal, Spain and France as moderately good according to Johns Hopkin’s [GHS index](https://ghsindex.org/). My brother, an archaeologist in Greece, has very positive things to say about it. Mexico has similar rankings.

PS: My husband is a dual national who has not lived in the UK since he was an infant.
