I am on my third internet provider. I first had MultiSolutions and experienced the problems that you describe. I understand Christian has ungraded his equipment since last I used him, so who knows today. Then I went with SaiTel. They were the worst. Service would go down all the time and when I called them, they never answered and never returned my calls. I am now with NetService. I am having fewer problems and when I call locally for resolution of a problem, I get very quick service. They claim to be giving me “pure” megabytes instead of shared megabytes, but speed is still slow at times. However, I can watch games on the NFL network with minimum resolution and USTVNOW with occasional annoying interruptions.
In this area, there seems to be no really good service so brace yourself for some frustrations.
NICK LAZAZZERAMemberI live in Cotacachi and have homeowners insurance from the Bank of Guayaquil. It covers fire, structural damage, loss of contents and theft protection with a $500 deductible. Homes may be better built these days, but the construction is still sloppy. The strength of the reinforcing bars that are used are diminished by up to 50% because of poor placement and embedment in the concrete. The short cuts that are taken compromise structural integrity. If you couple this with a lack of adequate compaction of the ground under the house, you will find cracks developing over time as the building settles. This being said, the mountain areas are fairly stable and I can’t see any catastrophic damage occurring except in a big earthquake.
If you have an account at Bank of Guayaquil, go talk to them.
