Sorry, the email address is jdsmuebles.john@gmail.com
LILIE HAILParticipantJust wanted to report that my experiences with John Askam’s JD’s Expat Services were very positive. He and the people working with him are just great folks. I highly recommend them for the services I used, including being picked up at the airport in Cuenca, accompanied to breakfast at Windhorse CafĂ© and then given a walking tour of El Centro by a native Ecuadorian who speaks excellent English; being shown a sampling of what sort of apartments are available. You can reach them at 0983214474 or email John at jdsmuebles.com.
LILIE HAILParticipantEdd, John owns a furniture store in Cuenca, JD’s Muebles. The Facebook page for that business had favorable comments about him, plus his communications seem quite professional – going to try his driver/translator business.
LILIE HAILParticipantThanks for your input, Suzan!
LILIE HAILParticipantThanks, Edd – having Customs misinterpret the protein powder in a baggie is definitely a concern – I’ll see if I there’s an alternative!
LILIE HAILParticipantSorry Suzan, I wasn’t very clear when I asked my question. What I meant was primarily supplements in capsules. To save room in my bag, I usually bring only what I will need for my trip – that’s the reason for the plastic bags. I’ll probably also need to bring a powdered protein/vitamin supplement, and I’d rather not have to bring the entire 1-lb. tub, but I will if necessary. I’m being treated for some health issues, and it would be less than great if I had to go for two weeks without these things.
LILIE HAILParticipantThanks, Wendy – that’s very helpful!
LILIE HAILParticipantThanks so much for the info., Suzan – very helpful!
