    Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to meeting you guys when we move to Cuenca in October.
    FYI I did not receive an email letting me know that a reply had been posted. I think I have seen other posts where they made the same comment.

    I have used Google Earth with some success.
    You can use one of the tools to outline the areas Edd mentioned above.
    It also has a ruler which give a pretty good idea on how far from the various points you could be looking at.

    How about ATM cards from a bank
    Usual or unusual?
    How about prepaid credit cards?
    ie : Green Dot, etc issued from Ecuador?
    Are there any international banks not tied to the US?

    With a resident visa, how difficult is it to set up a Ecuador bank account and to obtain a MasterCard or VISA from Ecuador?
    Can it be done without a resident visa?

    I am also interested in this.
    I know they closed all of the casino’s in Ecuador.
    I have seen several players on the America’s Card Room from Ecuador.

    I have contacted Juileta and she said they can make the arrangements for us. She quoted a price of $125 for the day. I don’t have a problem with this price, but I do not want to set a precident for overpaying. Can you advise if this is a reasonable price for a full day (8 am to 5-6 pm).

    We are also visiting in October of this year. We will be in Quito for 4 days and in Cuenca for 4 days. How much in advance should we contact a realtor to look at rentals? We are considering relocating toward the end of 2013.
