    Hmm, as I understand it, if your grandparent was born in Ireland, including the North, you are already a citizen and just need to document it. It’s not even handled by the immigration department. An interesting thing I learned visiting Ireland is that the population has still not reached the same level as before the Hunger in the 19th Century, so, I think they need folks…. There are a gazillion Poles there now, and Polish is the second most common mother tongue.

    I am in the same boat. I found a new book called “The Trumpster Fire Escape Alamanac: Facts to Plan Your Expat Life”, by Thomas Pained (a pseudonym). It has statistics about something like 100 countries (no authoritarian dictatorships…) and climate, etc., in 3-400 cities, including purchasing power of the USD, climate, crime, education level, English proficiency, etc. There is also a section to help you assess your needs and wants and tolerances.
