I have worked with quite a few nurses and other medical professionals over the years. You might be surprised how easy it is to translate the skills you pick up in such a career to an online income that you can use to earn from overseas.
In general, I have seen people with backgrounds similar to yours build online freelancing incomes in the following areas:
Proofreading and editing of articles and websites that had a consumer focus on topics like health and wellness, exercise programs, sports activities, and even camping. Having knowledge of the human body is beneficial to understanding such topics.
Providing online counselling and advice to people recovering from an injury, rehabbing after an accident, or getting over an illness. There is a lot of care that can be provided this way to help patients without needing to be physically present with them.
Some work in a “customer service” type position training other nurses on procedures and protocols associated with specialized areas of medicine.
One medical person I know got an assignment writing articles for an outdoors magazine about how to do first aid on the most common injuries you might encounter when hiking. They parlayed that into similar articles on travel first aid, playground first aid, surfing, etc.
Also nurses coaching aspiring nurses on how to study for various nursing tests, and CEUs to further their education.
A quick search on one of the most popular online freelancing networking sites just now revealed 2,222 jobs available under the keyword “medical.” These range from transcribing and editing medical documents to helping a social media company create TikTok videos on medical issues.
So you can see, there is a wide range of ways for you to earn online with a background in nursing.
