How Do I Find a Dentist in Mexico?

Anna P. Says:

I want to travel to Mexico for affordable non-urgent dental care (specifically implants). What’s the best way to vet the providers? Is there any type of medical registration board or similar where I should look?

IL Mexico Correspondent Wendy Justice Says:

Hi Anna,

Dental care in Mexico is state-of-the-art and easy on the wallet. That said, you wouldn’t want to just walk into any random clinic and hope for the best!

The Asociación Dental Mexicana is in charge of certifying dentists, but there isn’t a way to look up a specific dentist on their website to see whether they are certified or not.

I would advise checking in with one of the expat Facebook groups to see who they recommend. When there’s a dentist who does exceptionally good work, that name will come up again and again on those pages.

I found my dentist, who I think is amazing, through the Queretaro Expats group. Most of the expat community find their medical and dental providers this way.

Another helpful Facebook page is Dental Tourism, where you can search for implants or anything related to dental issues.
