Is David, Panama getting an international airport?

We’ve contacted airport officials more than once, and they continue to say the same thing: no comment.
But the airport has undergone a very public expansion that, among other things, lengthened the runways to allow for the larger planes typically used for international flights.
In order to get commercial airlines to establish flights here, however, there needs to be sizeable demand. And David remains quite small.
Bottom line: Don’t hold your breath. If you choose to live in David, you’ll need to fly to another airport to catch a flight to North America or beyond.
