Is It Possible to Find a 2-Bed Home in Toulon, France?

Paul W. Says:

My wife and I would like to move to the area in France where IL’s France Correspondent Tuula Rampont lives. We would like to get a place with two bedrooms and two baths. Is this possible in this part of France?

IL France Correspondent Tuula Rampont Says:

Hello Paul, it’s a pleasure to learn you’d like to move to Toulon. Yes, there are many two-bedroom, two-bath apartments in the city. There’s something for every budget as well.

Most French homes have separate rooms for the bath/shower and toilet. So even a “one bath” apartment will effectively have two.

You can choose to live in the downtown area, which will be on the lower end, and is only a 5- to 10-minute walk to the port and the Mediterranean Sea.

Alternatively, for something a bit more upscale, you can look in the Mourillon neighborhood, which is known as a “village within the city.” Here, there are many apartments right next to the beach.

A good website to check is Seloger.com. You can search for apartments and also compare what you find with other cities in France.

There is a current listing on the site for a furnished two-bedroom apartment in the Saint Roch area of Toulon. The living room opens onto a balcony, and the kitchen is separate. The apartment is 710 square feet and rents for €950 ($1016) a month.
