What are the best options for retirement homes in Uruguay?
IL Contributor David Hammond Writes:
There are a total of around 20 assisted living centers, retirement homes, and nursing homes in Montevideo, and about half-a-dozen in Punta del Este.
While we have not vetted specific nursing homes or assisted living centers, the following are a few of the most highly rated private facilities in Montevideo and Punta del Este, to help get you started on your research.
Belleville, in Montevideo, offers senior residences and nutritionist-planned meals for both independent and fully dependent seniors.
Tata Luis y Doña Lola Home for Seniors, in Montevideo, provides both day care and long-term housing for seniors who need assistance. They also provide care for people who need 24-hour attention, including seniors with Alzheimer’s.
In Punta del Este, Casa del Sol provides day care, transportation, and a permanent home for seniors who need assistance. Their staff includes nutritionists, psychologists, nurses, and physiotherapists.
Lavilletta, also in Punta del Este, provides nutritionist-guided meals and physical rehabilitation services.
