April is my favorite month in Belize. The weather is balmy and the skies are a brilliant powder-blue. Fleecy cotton candy clouds add drama to Caribbean seascapes, and respite from the brilliant sun. The seawater is warm and inviting, perfect for water sports. There's seldom a sprinkle of rain, so the humidity hits yearly lows.
As with elsewhere around Latin America, Carnaval fever was the highlight of the last month in Belize. And things can get wild here on Ambergris Caye.
After watching a series of grueling blizzards blow through the U.S. on the news, we are feeling grateful to be living in Belize. This time of year the weather is delightful. It's between 70 F and 80 F during the day and at night it's cool enough to add a light comforter to the bed. We still do get some rain but at this time of the year it's usually just enough to clean the air. The humidity is also perfect this time of year.
